Memory Lanes

Pictures of everyday life, travels or locations. Now living in one of the most beautiful regions of France, part of it is the Gard department, I will post shots of this place where time seems to have stopped. For each photo, a caption in English will be posted too. Just double-click on an image to get a bigger shot. Many thanks to my friend Scott for giving me such an intense yet fleeting insight into precious moments of life captured on a still image.

My beautiful launderette.

The owner of the place certainly chose a very strange name for the hotel. It would be more appropriate for a launderette. At any rate I wouldn't fancy checking in a hotel with the word "dirt" in its name, all the more so in Agadir which is not the cleanest place on earth!

Valentin's first flight, 12/07/06.

Redrum.

Valentin is so excited about taking the plane that the other day he locked himself up in the woodshed, took the axe and started chopping wood like mad.
This shot was taken when I thought he was going to have a go at the door. When I saw it I couldn't help thinking about the little boy in SHINING saying "REDRUM".

The local café supports the French team.

Every time the French play, the café up the road takes out the drapeau tricolore. What at first appeared like a joke is now becoming more serious as time goes by. However, as previously said on this blog "I'm still not keen on football" and I will probably carry on spending my life without ever watching a whole football match.
